Ramsey’s contract is set to run after this season and the 27-year-old has plenty of suitors. While Juventus has forwarded their offer to Ramsey, the central midfielder’s representatives are still testing the waters.
Ramsey understandably will be able to move to Turin for free next summer but the Bianconeri want to wipe out rival parties by completing the move right now. They are aware of Arsenal’s defensive problems and offering Benatia in exchange certainly does sweeten the deal further.
Unai Emery’s side holds the 11th best defensive record in the Premier League with 32 goals conceded in 22 games so far into the campaign. Summer signing, Sokratis Papastathopoulos has been decent so far but his partners, Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi has been poor at the centre-half positions.
With Rob Holding ruled out for the remainder of the season and Calum Chambers serving a loan spell with Fulham, the Spanish boss has been scouring the transfer market for defensive additions.
More so with the lack of funds offered to Emery by the Arsenal board, the formal Sevilla boss could be lured into Juventus’ attractive offer. Benatia might be 31 years old but he is a proven figure in Europe’s top leagues including the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.
