Arsenal star Sead Kolasinac has admitted that the Gunners can’t leave themselves with a lot to do in the next matches in the Europa League. The Gunners have been stretched to their limits in the last two matches in the Europa League round of 32 and round of 16 contests as they got beaten by their opponents BATE and Stade Rennais in the first leg but came back strongly to overturn the deficits in their own backyard and finally make it to the quarterfinal round. The north London club has been drawn against one of the hardest opponents in the form of Napoli in their next tie in the Europa League.
Speaking to the media after their 3-0 win over Stade Rennais in the last match, the Arsenal left-back said, “It’s really important [to learn from this], obviously it’s always very difficult when you lose the first game. We are aware of that, it’s not something we want to do of course.”
He added, “It is something we are going to work on in the next round. Obviously we do not yet know who we have got next, but for us of course the key will be to start better than we have in these last two ties. We didn’t put ourselves in a good position at the end of that first leg. Having said that, I think that away goal was crucial for us. It was difficult for us because we had to play with 10 men for about 50 minutes of that first game as well.”
Kolasinac concluded, “We made it difficult, but we knew how strong we are at home and we deservedly went through.”
