Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has been cleared to play in the second leg of the Europa League clash against Stade Rennais. The ban that was imposed on the Frenchman has been reduced which will see the player take part in the next match when the two sides meet in the round of 16 matchup.
The player was shown a straight red for his foul on BATE Borisov defender Aleksandar Filipovic in the first leg of the match between the two sides in the round of 32. He was given a three-match ban for which he was reportedly reprimanded by manager Unai Emery. The player later apologised for the incident to the club and the fans.
However, now that the ban has been reduced on the player, he is eligible to play in the remaining match in the round of 16 for the Gunners. It comes as a big boost for the north London club as they are in the verge of being knocked out of the competition after enduring a 3-1 defeat in the first leg of the matchup. The next match between the two sides is to be played at the Emirates Stadium.
