Lacazette opens up on his partnership with Aubayemeng

They started together for the first time this season against Cardiif City last weekend

Arsenal had a very busy summer as Unai Emery was appointed as the new manager of the club after Arsene Wenger decided to leave the club after 22 years. The Spaniard signed a three-year deal worth £15 million.

He was given the charge with the task of rebuilding the squad and returning the club to the European elite while challenging for other major honours, after they finished sixth in the Premier League last season resulting in missing the Champions League this season.

However, the Gunners didn’t got off to a great start as they have begun life under the Spaniard with back-to-back defeats in the Premier League against their big rivals Chelsea and Manchester City.

But the London Outfit won both of their next matches against West Ham United and Cardiff City before the International break begun. They were impressive in both the matches and shown great character to come back to win them.

Emery stick with 4-2-3-1 approach during the first 3 matches with Pierre-Emerick Aubayemeng as the lone frontman. After Alexandre Lacazette shown promising signs coming on as a substitute, both the strikers were given the first start together in the last match.

Duo displayed signs of striking up a promising partnership with both them scoring a goal. The France International scored the winner and giving the 46 year old another option to use this season.

Lacazette has admitted that they enjoy playing together and claims they complement each other.

He told as quoted by Goal: “It’s nice to play together because we compliment each other’s strengths.

“He deserved to score [against Cardiff] because he has worked so hard since the start of the season.

“The Chelsea game was hard for him because he missed some chances, but it was nice to play well with him.

“The system was good, we worked on it all week. It was different, but good.”
