Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal team has been bit several injuries.
Besides Chelsea, the Gunners are one of the most unlucky teams to play in this season’s Premier League in terms of injuries to first team players.
United have also lost a couple of stars in Pogba and Rashford but it has mainly been Arsenal who have lost too many players when it comes to defences.
They have had Kolasinac, Mustafi, Cedric, Mari, Sokratis, Bellerin, Tierney – all out injured to various injuries on multiple occasions.
This has affected in their form and they have not been able to marshall a proper defence.
At right back, Cedric was signed to cover for the injury prone Bellerin who is again out with a groin problem.
Now Arteta has confirmed that Cedric is close to a return which will be a good boost given that Ainsley Maitland Niles has been in horrible form recently.
“I think they will be available to play,” Arteta said. “Hopefully everybody’s able to train tomorrow and [we’ll] pick the squad the best players we can.”
Arsenal are doing decently better in other defensive positions like centre back and left back.
