Leicester City are starting to sweat over the possibility of losing Youri Tielemans to Arsenal after this season.
The loan signing from AS Monaco has fit into the Foxes lineup like fish to water. He has given the midfield much more offensive flexibility and has delivered with 3 goals and 5 assists in 11 Premier League games.
Brendan Rodgers would love to sign the 21-year-old permanently but Arsenal have set up plans of their own. With Aaron Ramsey set to leave for Juventus this summer, the Gunners are headhunting for an ideal midfield replacement.
While plenty of their targets have already come up as bust, Tielemans could be a realistic option if a considerable amount is offered up to the Ligue 1 side.
The Belgian was not a starting figure in the Stade Louis II which initiated the switch away to England in the first place. He has already been capped 21 times for his country and has a lot of potential to be a star midfielder in the Premier League. Arsenal can expect to face a lot of resistance from the side who just beat them 3-0 at the King Power Stadium.
When asked about the player’s future, Rodgers said, “There will be dialogue between the clubs. He’s clearly a player we would like to work with and I understand the fans enjoy watching a player like that.”
