Bernd Leno is ready for the Premier League again.
The German goalkeeper has issued a rallying cry to his team-mates and warned their rivals in Chelsea and Manchester United.
Arsenal are languishing on the lower end of the top half of the table but has seen a definite turn of spirits and performances since the arrival of Mikel Arteta at the club.
Leno is hoping to use the momentum and hit the peddle hard once the Premier League resumes to fight their way into the top four by dismantling Chelsea and United.
Their first match back is against Manchester City and Leno is happy with the situation since it will require his team to be at their best from the scratch for the last few matches this season.
“It’s a great way to start because we have to go full throttle right from the off – they’re an absolutely top team,” said the goalkeeper when speaking to DFB.
“It’ll be strange to play again after such a long time out and with such little time to prepare, but I’m optimistic about the rest of the season.
“I hope we can get into Europe. We’re not ruling out the Champions League places because we might get it with just fifth place, given Man City’s possible ban.
“We were in decent form before the break, I just hope we can get back to that when we return and end up in a European spot.”
