Premier League rivals Arsenal are reportedly set to acquire one of Liverpool’s academy players. Liverpool has been one of the most active and wise teams when it comes to acquiring young players, even though the majority of supporters may contend that the Reds have been a little dubious and less competitive when it comes to acquiring mature players.
The club’s successful acquisition of Rio Ngumoha from rival Chelsea was a huge triumph. Last summer, they also signed Alvin Ayam, and they have locked down the long-term prospects of some of their most promising young players.
Nonetheless, Liverpool has not always had an easy time with young players. The 18-year-old center defender Luca Furnell-Gill left the Reds last month when he joined Tottenham during the January transfer window. It’s possible that they will lose another of their highly regarded young forwards to Arsenal, another London rival.

At the academy level, Akaunu, who can play both forward and winger, is highly rated. His future, though, appears to be elsewhere, and the teenager would surely benefit from enrolling in the esteemed Hale End academy.
The possibility of a move is growing as Akaunu consented to the trial and Arsenal scouts were impressed by his performance. Although Akaunu will be missed, Liverpool won’t necessarily suffer a great loss because they already have so much attacking depth at that level.
At the academy level, Rio Ngumoha, Joe Bradshaw, and the dynamic Joshua Abe are also rising through the ranks. Following the aforementioned Ngumoha’s move to Anfield and Chido Obi-Martin’s move from Arsenal to Manchester United, if he does depart, it will be another high-profile academy transfer between two of England’s top teams.
It’s encouraging to see that young players are now considering their future paths rather early on. Akaunu obviously sees a future after leaving the Reds, and Liverpool wishes him luck in all of his endeavors.
