Borussia Dortmund star, Marco Reus has listed Mesut Ozil as the best player he has ever played with, in the German national team.
It the latest rounds of revelations it was noted that the Arsenal midfielder had retired from international football due to reasons of racism. He came out to the press to cite his reasons for leaving the Die Mannschaft for good.
Since then Jerome Boateng, Thomas Meuller and Mats Hummels have been dropped by Joachim Lowe.
Many football fans wll know of the dominance the German national side enjoyed with all these players rooted to the very core of the team. However, their performances have dipped in recent times, getting knocked out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in the group stages and struggling to collect wins now.
They have won only one game since their trip to Russia. Reus, whose career has been ravaged with injuries but still is assured of a spot on Lowe’s team, told Copa90, “I would say Mesut Ozil because he is a player who has a really good eye for his team-mates, who can also create goals and has many assists in the Premier League and also the national team. He’s just an intelligent player and you can see it at first glance.
“I always enjoyed playing with him and that’s why, of course, it’s a pity that he’s taken a step back. I hope he’ll get back to form and can return to playing for Arsenal regularly.”
