Eddie Nketiah still has three years left to run on his current contract.
Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is on the radar of Marseille and they are ready to make a bid for the Englishman. The Ligue 1 club are preparing for their first season under the guidance of former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi.
The French club are hoping to assemble a strong squad that can improve upon last season’s disappointing eighth-place finish. They have been great in business with the additions of Bamo Meite, Ismael Kone and Lilian Brassier.
Marseille signed Manchester United academy product Mason Greenwood on a five-year contract. He signed him from Man United for a reported €31.6m.
Th Ligue 1 giants want to sign Nketiah following Greenwood’s arrival. As per the report of Foot Mercato, they have submitted an initial proposal to sign Arsenal’s Nketiah this summer.
The report adds that the Ligue 1 giants are currently in discussions with the Englishman over personal terms. They consider him as a replacement for former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who recently completed a switch to Saudi Pro League.
The 25-year-old has spent nine years with the club following his departure from Chelsea’s youth system in 2015. He has made 168 competitive appearances for the Gunners, scoring 38 goals and providing seven assists.
The English forward still has three years left to run on his current contract. He signed a new deal in the summer of 2022.
