Gunners young star Gabriel Martinelli has revealed that Aubameyang and David Luiz have helped him to settle in at the Emirates Stadium following his two goals against Nottingham Forest. Martinelli reveals how Aubameyang helped him settle.

The 18-year-old Brazilian made his first competitive start for Arsenal in their 5-0 win against Nottingham Forest. He scored twice in the Carabao Cup third-round victory.

The striker opened the scoring for the Gunners with a header in the first half. He scored his second, which an exquisite long-range effort in stoppage time of the second half.

Martinelli reveals how Aubameyang helped him settle:

Martinelli: “I arrived for lunch on the first day, Aubameyang sits next to me, speaking Portuguese with me, ‘Alright?’, You see, the guy is so good, humble people. I was: ‘Damn it! Dude, its Aubameyang, who I saw on TV, came to talk to me!’ They are very nice people.

“It was exceptional for me David Luiz arrived because he’s Brazilian & helps me in everything. In communication with the fitness coach, if I have questions I ask him how he talks. Sometimes I ask how to say something, for me to be learning too, & he does help me.

“I’ve been constantly on the bench for the Premier League & knew that the chance to play could appear in the cups. I train very hard, with a lot of dedication & commitment so when chances appear, I can grab them with all my strength & know how to take advantage

Martinelli featured prominently in Arsenal’s pre-season games. He made his debut against Newcastle.

Martinelli has been forced to bide his time for opportunities but shone on his first start for the club. He scored twice during Tuesday’s 5-0 Carabao Cup win over Nottingham Forest.
