Arsenal might finally have found a suitor for Matteo Guendouzi in Hertha Berlin.
After months of deliberation over where to send the Gunners outcast, Edu Gaspar and Mikel Arteta might have finally found a move that could be beneficial for all.
Guendouzi is set to miss out as long as he is at North London. His bust-up with Arteta kind of was the final string in his Arsenal career and an exit was imminent. Still, clubs were not too keen on signing a player with such a polarizing attitude like Guendouzi’s, at least on a permanent deal.
A loan would not only raise his stock value but also give him a chance to ponder on his time in England. Arsenal still have a contract with him until June 2022. Foot Mercato confirmed that Guendouzi will travel to Germany and complete a move to Hertha on deadline day.
The France U21 captain had already rejected Hertha before but after coming to know of his chances at Arsenal, he decided to make the switch. The Bundesliga outfit will not pay any loan fees but will take on 100% of his wages.
There could be plenty of transfer activity on deadline day for Arsenal as several other players are tipped to leave or enter. Sead Kolasinac could join Guendouzi on his way to Germany as a deal between him and Bayer Leverkusen nears.
