Arsenal express summer interest in 23-year-old Girona star

In Arsenal’s 5-0 hammering of Leeds United, 15-year-old Max Dowman got off to a sensational start, becoming the second youngest player in Premier League history.

Having been an unexpected addition to Mikel Arteta’s bench, the midfielder was permitted to start at Emirates Stadium in place of Noni Madueke with around thirty minutes left.

Another player from Arsenal, Ethan Nwaneri, was 15 years and 181 days old in 2022, making him the youngest person to have stepped foot on a Premier League pitch. At 15,235 days, Dowman made his debut and immediately made an impression.

Viktor Gyokeres duly converted the penalty after he confronted opponents, took a shot, and completed an outstanding display by gaining his team a penalty in stoppage time. Upon being asked about Dowman’s performance, Arteta said, “Well, this is what we say every single day in training.”

I also think we merely gathered information on his training routine, his capacity to stay in the squad without being selected later in Manchester, and his willingness to come off the bench. Of course, to the Academy as well. Well done to all the coaches that went that way. Considering that this youngster is completely unreluctant.

When Dowman was selected for the club’s January warm weather training camp in Dubai, interest in his development increased. He allegedly held his own against seasoned first-team regulars despite just being 14 at the time.

Having played for Arsenal’s Under-18 team for three years above his age group, Dowman is accustomed to being grouped with more experienced players. He excelled in 23 games last season, tallying 19 goals and dishing out five assists.

“Those are the negatives of the day,” Arteta stated. When Martin landed, he felt something in his shoulder. We’re not sure. To have a better understanding, we will need to scan him tomorrow.

“And Bukayo felt something in his hamstring while he was sprinting with the ball, carrying the ball, and grappling with the defender.” It’s never good news.

The loss of important players so early in the Gunners’ campaign should be somewhat made up for by Dowman’s rise and the acquisition of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace. Next weekend, Arsenal will go to Liverpool, the champions.
