Fenerbahce are pretty confident about signing Mesut Ozil in January.
Arsenal have completely frozen the German out after several personal disputes behind the scenes.
Ozil’s stance in politics or his denial to accept a wage cut last season did not go down well with the club hierarchy. Since the project restart in July, he has not made it into a single lineup for Arsenal. Mikel Arteta even went the extra length to completely remove him from his Premier League and Europa League squads for the season, forcing him to only show up to training and collect his paycheque.
Ozil did voice his disappointment at the decision but accepted the consequences to see out the remainder of his contract. Of course, doing that will ensure he receives his full £350,000-per-week wages along with several loyalty bonuses. It is only certain that the midfielder will stick around until he collects the very last of what he was promised and then depart for fresher opportunities.
However Fenerbahce congress member, Murat Zorlu believes that Ozil will almost certainly join them in Turkey. He told Sport Digitale, “A source, who’s very well connected to the club has told me that Mesut Ozil is likely to become a Fenerbahce player during the next transfer window. I would say 90% he will join us in one month.”
