Mesut Ozil is finally leaving Arsenal. The seven and a half year stay at the club is coming to an end.
Ozil joined Arsenal at a time when the club were in need for big players and he was Wenger’s big signing. He entered and took the league by storm and was a player who did well over the years.
However, towards the end of Wenger’s era, he was on the end of his contract run but decided to stay loyal to the Gunners by signing a new contract which also made him the highest paid player not only in the club but also in England.
However, as time moved on, his performances dropped, and under new managers the old Ozil never surfaced. It reached a point of toxicity so bad that Ozil was removed from the first team squad for all competitions and so stayed at home earning his massive wages until his contract run down.
However, it seems, Arsenal and Ozil have finally come to terms with a new solution. Fenerbahce, the club Ozil supported growing up has come in to get him and it maybe leading to Arsenal and Ozil terminating their contract with a mutual agreement.
