Mesut Ozil’s future at Arsenal is becoming increasingly uncertain.
The club has not offered him a new contract at this stage, and the current one expires in 2021.
Last summer, the “Gunners” were ready to part with him, but the transfer did not happen. After the arrival of Mikel Arteta in December, the German started playing regularly. However, this has not changed the position of the leadership, which is not sure that it wants to keep it.
His main problem is his huge salary of 350,000 pounds a week. He signed again under these conditions in January 2018 and since then this decision of the “Gunners” has received serious criticism.
At that time, there were six months left until the expiration of the contract, and the club parted ways with Alexis Sanchez. Arsenal were pressured not to lose another star and disrupted the salary structure to keep the German.
