Mikel Arteta claims that current Arsenal squad is not sustainable.
The Gunners have made three signings, with Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice all moving to the Emirates.
Arsenal have spent over £200m over these three signings and currently have a 30-man first-team squad that needs to be addressed.
Mikel Arteta wants a number of sales to sanction this summer as he admits the current squad is bloated.
So far, only Granit Xhaka and Pablo Mari have left the Emirates with a transfer fee whereas Ainsley Maitland-Niles departed on a free transfer.
There is a month to go until the summer window slams shut and Arteta would want some outgoings to occur before that.
“We have 30 players here which is unsustainable, and obviously the market is still open,” Arteta told reporters. “Things can happen – but we are prepared.
“We are really happy with the squad we have at the moment; we obviously have improvements to make in terms of what we want to do in games, and we have to do that. Overall, I’m really pleased with the team.”
