Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has stated clearly that he has no intention of parting ways with striker Eddie Nketiah during the upcoming winter transfer window.
Despite a difficult season for the 24-year-old, Arteta respects Nketiah’s contribution to the team, particularly given the absence of the injury-prone Gabriel Jesus.
Nketiah, while not a lock to start, has proven his worth at key moments on the field. His winning goal against Manchester United in January 2023, as well as an amazing hat-trick in the 5-0 victory over Sheffield United in October, shows his capacity to make a huge impact in high-stakes contests.
Despite reported interest from a number of teams, Arsenal has reportedly slapped a £50 million price tag on Nketiah in order to discourage potential bidders. The Gunners, who sold Folarin Balogun to AS Monaco for £35 million the previous summer, see Nketiah as a superior talent and are determined to keep him.
While rumors have linked Nketiah to a move elsewhere, the player himself is pleased with his place in Arteta’s setup. Nketiah’s contract extension until the summer of 2027 improves Arsenal’s negotiation position.
With the Gunners having qualified for the Champions League knockout rounds and ambitions of winning their first league title in two decades, Arteta sees Nketiah as an important member of the group, providing depth and firepower to their offensive frontline.
As the winter transfer window approaches, Arsenal retains its position, stating clearly that Nketiah is not for sale at any price.
