Defensa Central understands that the Gunners are looking at creative talent for their next piece of transfer business.
And Arteta seems to have picked the outcast from Real Madrid – Isco. Zinedine Zidane no longer prefers him in his midfield setup and is ready to part ways with him as soon as possible.
It will play well into Real’s plans of selling deadweight and Isco is still only 28. The Spaniard fits the profile of players Arteta wants at the Emirates. Dani Ceballos has seen an upturn in form this past season, playing important minutes and expanding his game under his compatriot.
Isco is excess to needs at Madrid but he could return to his star status at North London. Arsenal are starving for playmakers who can break opposition defences with their passing and dribbling abilities. The Spanish international specialises in just that.
He is capable of playing from out wide but is best suited to more central roles. Isco will be motivated to find more regular minutes ahead of the European Championships next summer. For now, he is not on Luis Enrique’s books but a move in January could change that.
The report suggests that Arsenal might sign Isco only on loan initially and then choose to make it permanent after the 2020/21 season.
