When Arsenal takes on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on Sunday, Mikel Arteta has urged fans to attack the final with his team.

The Premier League leaders are still in the running for four trophies this season, but it has been over six years since they last took home a significant trophy, when Arteta won the FA Cup during his first season in command.

The manager of Arsenal stated, “It adds more necessity when you have been in this position and [gone] years without winning a trophy, but it also adds more drive because you really want it and that’s something we have.” “We’ve been working to accomplish that for a while, and I know we have the chance to do it. It’s really important for us.”

Arteta can count on a lot more commotion this time around after the Covid-19 outbreak prevented fans from attending Arsenal’s 2020 FA Cup triumph at Wembley. When asked about a message for the supporters, he responded, “Be with us; push for every ball, for every action.” “Attack the final together and demonstrate how much we truly want it.”

Arteta reveals what Arsenal squad must do to beat Man City

The Gunners might finally break their trophy drought, which has creeped up on them despite their fierce title-chasing streak, after nearly six years since the last significant prize. However, Arteta thinks his squad has learnt a lot over that period, and the expertise they have acquired allows them to defend their current position.

“At the end, it’s whether you win the trophy or not, so it’s one of the defining moments,” Arteta said. And once you reach the final, that’s what matters most.

Bukayo Saka, an unused replacement at the time but a certain starter this weekend, was the only member of the FA Cup winning team. To win their first significant title in the red and white, Arteta thinks his team need to “attack the trophy.”

“Our players must perform at this level every day, but when it comes to the pivotal moments and when it comes to attacking the trophy and taking it home,” he stated.
