Mikel Arteta dropped Aaron Ramsdale for David Raya in their win against Everton.

The Spaniard made his debut for the Gunners last night and helped the team secure their fourth win of the season.

David Raya was brought to the Emirates on loan and has a £27m option-to-buy clause that Arsenal are expected to activate.

Raya got his first appearance for the Gunners whereas Ramsdale was dropped which raised a lot of questions amongst fans and pundits.

Mikel Arteta explained Ramsdale getting dropped was a part of the squad rotation policy.

But Piers Morgan claims Ramsdale has been number one last season and doesn’t deserve to be dropped.

“I don’t understand what Ramsdale has done to deserve being dropped? Havertz, yes.. but Ramsdale’s been consistently superb for us. Why humiliate him? I don’t believe in having 2 top ‘keepers with neither knowing who’s No1,” he tweeted.

“Nothing against Raya, who is very good, but don’t like the way Ramsdale’s being treated. Has any team ever won the League by rotating 2 top goalkeepers? I have no idea, but I doubt it.”
