According to The Mirror, Arteta could throw young defender Lino Sousa in at the deep end for Saturday’s encounter with Brighton.
The 17-year-old has represented England at U18 and U23 levels, joined Gunners from West Bromwich Albion in January.
He already has netted two goals in three appearances for Arsenal’s under-23s in Premier League 2.
