Mikel Arteta wishes Thomas Tuchel ‘the best of luck’ going forward.
The German coach was sacked by Chelsea just a day after the club’s 1-0 defeat to Dinamo Zabgreb in their first Champions League group-stage tie.
Thomas Tuchel won three trophies with Chelsea but unfortunately had an underwhelming start to the new season.
The Blues spent over £250m on new signings over the summer but they have managed only three wins in the Premier League this year.
Mikel Arteta was definitely shocked by Chelsea’s decision to sack the former PSG manager.
“I was — it was right before the training session when we got the news,” “It’s always sad for any colleague in this profession to get fired. Unfortunately, we know how this works,” Arteta said when asked if he was surprised at the decision.
“I wish him the best of luck. It’s not pleasant to hear that news.
“… We have a profession that at some stage, this (can) happen. We have to prevent it, enjoy the journey and enjoy every day because you never know when that’s coming.”
