Arsenal are reportedly plotting a move for Nabil Fekir.
This is not the first time the Gunners have drawn links to the Frenchman.
Unai Emery wanted to sign him but Liverpool had the upper hand and came very close to concluding a deal in 2019. Eventually, the move fell through and he moved on from Lyon to Real Betis.
Mundo Deportivo understands that Mikel Arteta wants to sign him for around €45m. Arsenal’s rebuilding project is in full flow under the Spanish boss. Fans are seeing quite a few players move in and out of the revolving doors of the Emirates. Edu Gaspar and Arteta still needs to offload a few names this summer which would open up the chance to make improvements.
We have all seen how much difference the addition of Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe to the senior side has made this season. Both players are now key contributors in Arteta’s setup and viewed as the future. The only hiccup is Odegaard’s rights are still owned by Real Madrid.
If the Galacticos chooses to keep him from next season, Arsenal will have to look at other targets. Fekir is that alternative, carrying a massive reputation with him in Spain. He has scored 10 goals in 63 appearances for Betis and also features for the France national team.
