Aubameyang scored just four goals in 14 Premier League games this season.
Newcastle United have reportedly made contact with Arsenal over a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Aubameyang was sacked as the skipper of Gunners last month and he was not part of Arsenal of the club’s last 4-5 matches. He also left to Cameroon early to join Gabon for AFCON 2021.
The 32-year-old has been frozen out of Mikel Arteta’s set up and he wants to move to another club. He is being strongly linked with a move away this month and is believed to be weighing up his options.
Newcastle are already transformed financially since the new ownership. According to The Mirror, Magpies have touched base with Arsenal over a loan-to-buy move.
The report also adds that they are keen to sign Gabon international on loan this month before potentially triggering an option to buy for £20m in the summer.
Former Arsenal captain had a new three-year deal with the club back in 2020 but has struggled for form since, scoring just four goals in 14 Premier League games this season.
Aubameyang has scored a total of 92 goals and 21 assists in 163 games for Gunners, winning one FA Cup during his time.
