Arsenal defender, Rob Holding is wanted by Newcastle United and Leeds United.
The Magpies have registered their interest in Holding and are looking to take him on a year-long loan deal. Arsenal are open to letting the centre-walk this summer and Newcastle is ready to offer him a way out.
Mikel Arteta have two new defenders in his squad for next two season – William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes. With David Luiz extending his stay for one more year, there are a lot of names who are expendable to the coach. Holding is certainly one of them who’s exit could help fund more signings.
Arsenal will be looking to sell him on permanently for a decent fee. He is still only 25, English and has the potential to succeed in the Premier League. Unfortunately, it might not be at Arsenal with several other names ahead of him in the pecking order. Leeds United are invested in signing him as well, as reported by TEAMtalk.
Marcelo Bielsa plans on signing technically gifted defenders to fit into his setup and is eyeing up both Holding and Calum Chambers. Arsenal could entertain the idea of a loan if it benefits them long-term. A season of regular football could do wonders to Holding’s confidence. Plus, his wages will be taken care of. When David Luiz leaves after the 2020/21 campaign, there won’t be a need to sign another prominent name if Holding proves himself at St. Mary’s.
