The Ivory Coast international gave Arsenal the lead during their comeback win against West Ham United.
It was his wonder strike from the right side of the post that completely dismantled West Ham’s morale. The Gunners caught the hosts on the counter and Pepe took advantage of a run of space to curl one in past David Martin.
He was also the saviour during Arsenal’s last win prior to the one last week. The Gunners were 1-2 down against Vitoria SC when Pepe decided to come in and strike to outstanding free-kicks and save his side from embaressment.
It has not been an easy transition from France to England from Pepe but he is slowly making his mark at North London. “His left foot is unbelievable,” Leno told football.london. “Also his one-against-one against defenders is unbelievable.
“When he has space, he can be a key player for us in transition. I think and I’m sure that we’ll have a lot of fun with him.”
Leno added: “Is it a turning point? I hope so. It was a hard time for him. But I think that’s normal when you come to the Premier League. The Premier League is very hard, very tough, and it takes time to get used to it. But today and also in the last weeks you could see how much quality he has. When he’s working like today and also in the last games, he can be a key player for us.”
