After the Gunners agreed on a price to sign the winger from Chelsea, Noni Madueke is set to join the team. The Gunners have acted swiftly to finalize a deal after the England international became an unexpected target.
The London rivals have been negotiating a transfer fee in recent days, and personal details for the move across the city were finalized last week. Fabrizio Romano says that Chelsea has accepted Arsenal’s bid, which exceeds £50 million with add-ons, and that an agreement has already been reached.
During Mikel Arteta’s tenure in north London, Madueke will now sign a five-year contract, making him the sixth player to leave Stamford Bridge for the Emirates. The 23-year-old will be Arsenal’s fourth summer transfer window acquisition, as Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, and Kepa Arrizabalaga have all finalized their deals.
In recent days, the Gunners have also intensified their chase of Viktor Gyokeres, a standout for Sporting CP. Arteta, who has also expressed interest in Anthony Gordon of Newcastle United and Rodrygo of Real Madrid, has been eager for the team to add another wide option this summer.
Arsenal close to full agreement with Chelsea winger Noni Madueke
Noni Madueke of Chelsea has agreed to pay £52 million to join Arsenal. A five-year contract has already been agreed to by the England winger, who is expected to finalize his move to the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal, who are also anticipated to intensify their chase of Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace, have been seeking to increase flanking depth and have moved swiftly after recognizing Madueke as a top target.
The 23-year-old’s ability to cover Bukayo Saka on the right and give Mikel Arteta a left-wing alternative is what makes him appealing. Since Chelsea added Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, Estêvão, and João Pedro to their attack this summer, Madueke has made the decision to look for a new challenge.
Chelsea must make money through sales after last week’s default fine for breaking financial fair play regulations. Their financial situation will improve if Madueke, who joined from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023, is sold for a profit.
