Fabio Vieira’s loan agreement at Porto does not include an obligation for the Portuguese club to buy him at the end of the season.
Arsenal have confirmed that they have allowed their out-of-form midfielder Fabio Vieira to complete a season-long loan move to Primeira Liga club Porto.
The 24-year-old joined the Gunners from the same club two years back but failed to make an impact for Mikel Arteta. Arsenal are busy in the summer market and they are leaving few players to make some funds for the deadline day signing.
Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino are top signings for Arsenal in summer window. Their backup striker Eddie Nketiah also joined Crystal Palace. David Raya also confirmed his contract as permanent deal.
Meanwhile, Portugal giants revealed that they have brought Vieira back on a loan deal for the 2024-25 season. He made into the first-team squad in 2019 and scored 10 goals in 76 games.
The 24-year-old will take the number 10 jersey, which was recently vacated by Francisco Conceicao. His loan agreement at Porto does not include an obligation for Portuguese club to buy him at the end of the season.
The Portugal international made 49 appearances for Arsenal, scoring three goals and providing nine assists. Porto can loan buy him at the end of the season. Arsenal have set a release clause. The 24-year-old may return to the club next summer.
The clause will come into effect if FC Porto do not play him in 50% of their matches following his arrival.
