Olympiakos attacking midfielder Mathieu Valbuena is happy that they brought Arsenal down and out of the Europa League.
Arsenal lost 2-1 in a very shocking defeat to Olympiakos last night. Although Arsenal was devastated after the defeat, Olympiakos was over the moon.
“Honestly, I have lost my voice, we were singing in the dressing room… this is a historic moment for the club. We suffered but we created chances, we made this team doubt itself. And then this crazy scenario happened because when we went to 1-0, we said to ourselves that we had to take this to penalties. Then they go and score. Then Youssef scores in the final moments,” said Valbuena.
“This embodies the fantastic spirit that our team has, a fantastic club. I am impressed. I couldn’t believe my eyes. This is a real night… I am lucky to see this at the age that I am, it is truly fantastic… This is really a huge night for Olympiakos. It has been a long time since the club has enjoyed a European night like this. This one, it is special. I really feel good here, with an incredible squad, with a coach that makes us work enormously hard. I am proud of myself too, to live moments like this at 35… I hope there will be others.”
