Mesut Ozil’s future at Arsenal is under question.
It is clear he does not fit into Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s footballing plans. However, the footballer has some different plans.
When last asked, Ozil was adamant about staying.
“I’m very pleased with my contract and I will continue here this season and next,” he said. “I can’t tell you what the future will bring, I’m excited about the future, but I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
His agent Erkut has now reconfirmed that the player will be staying to see his contract out.
“Mesut has a one-year contract. There will be no change in this regard,” agent Erkut Sogut told beIN Sports.
“So what happens next, time will show. Mesut will be 32 years old and will have a few more years in his career.
“Mesut and his family will make a decision. It will be the best of all.
“I cannot speak about Mesut and Fenerbahce because I have no right to speak on this matter according to the principle of confidentiality.”
Arsenal’s plans were put horribly wrong after they offered the German an extension with the highest earner cap at the club and are now paying the price, quite literally for it.
