Arsene Wenger’s sabbatical from football has been interrupted by Paris Saint-Germain as reported by the Times.
The Ligue 1 outfit has offered the Frenchman the post of Director of Football. Wenger has been claimed to have already met with the club’s manager, Thomas Tuchel and chairman, Nasser Al-Khelafi.
According to ESPN, PSG’s current director, Antero Henrique is on thin ice with the club’s hierarchy after failing to sign Ajax wonderkid, Frenkie de Jong in January. Barcelona ended up winning the transfer race for the Dutch international and Henrique was aware of the consequences if he fell short.
To make amends, the former FC Porto man arranged for the signing of Leandro Paredes from Zenit St. Petersburg but that did little to save his place at the Parc des Princes.
Wenger is thought to be fiddling with three other job offers excluding the one from the French giants. He left Arsenal in June 2018 after managing the side for 22 years.
The Daily Cannon claims that it is only time before ‘the Professor’ makes his grand return to top-flight European football. Even at the age of 69, the man’s hunger for success has not let up and nor has his love for the game.
