Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has praised his opposite number Unai Emery ahead of City’s clash against Arsenal which is tomorrow. Both of Manchester City’s and Arsenal’s previous matches ended in a 2-1 result. City lost 2-1 to Newcastle United while Arsenal won 2-1 against Cardiff City.

Arsenal’s win took them to 4th place in the Premier League table for the first time since December after Chelsea’s drubbing against Bournemouth.

Arsenal and Manchester City last locked horns in August at the Emirates where Guardiola’s side triumphed 2-0. However, Unai Emery’s lads have come a long way since then and will certainly give the reigning champions a run for their money.

Speaking ahead of the match Guardiola said, “He’s an incredibly well-prepared manager. I’ve never been with him in his clubs but my impression from outside is that he’s a manager who is well prepared. He has an incredible work ethic, he’s a fighter and he’s an incredible, incredible manager. The results he has had in the Premier League have been quite good. Of course they lost in the League Cup and the FA Cup, but the Premier League is tough so qualifying for the Champions League is a big success for next season.

The first season in England and in a new country is not easy but when I watch him from outside it’s been quite good.”
