The Gunners boss is trying to persuade the Belgian into leaving Paris Saint-Germain for the Premier League. Meunier has reportedly expressed a desire to reunite with his former boss as well and may have already been wooed with an attractive offer.
If he agrees to a deal soon enough, Arsenal will submit their first bid for the out-of-favour right-back. Ever since Dani Alves came into the Parc des Princes, Meunier’s inclusion into the PSG first team has wavered in important fixtures.
The 27-year-old has not been talked into extending his contract beyond the next season which makes his situation concerning for the Ligue 1 champions. PSG would want to prevent a total loss by losing Meunier for free next summer.
They value the defender at €30m but Arsenal are trying to pull that fee way down to €20m. Emery will have to fix the entire Gunners squad with a very limited summer budget. With Manchester United expressing interest in the fullback as well, this could turn things complicated at the Emirates.
