PSV manager Peter Bosz praises Arsenal playmaker Kai Havertz

PSV manager Peter Bosz showered praise on Arsenal’s dangerous playmaker, Kai Havertz, in an exclusive interview with The Athletic, offering light on their fruitful three-season partnership at Leverkusen.

Bosz, who viewed Havertz’s transition from a right-winger to a prolific number nine, reiterated the 24-year-old’s varied qualities that identify him as a standout player.

Bosz went on to say that Havertz is frequently ‘misunderstood,’ focusing on the German’s constant commitment to winning games for his sides.

He said: “Sometimes you have a player who is so good, like Kai, that you don’t have to say anything, the players are following him already. He is misunderstood. This guy does everything to win games.”

“I was the guy (as a player) who made the tackles and everyone said I was 100 per cent, but that was me. Kai plays piano like Bach. I was like, ‘A footballer playing piano? I can’t believe it’. But he is really intelligent.

“When he left for Chelsea the next day, there was a box for every player and every staff member with his jersey and his name on the back. He didn’t have to but this is the person he is.”

Despite some early challenges in his first season with the Gunners, Havertz has gradually silenced critics with major contributions.

Additionally, he set up Gabriel Martinelli’s game-winning goal against Manchester City and netted crucial goals against Brentford and Luton Town.

Havertz’s recent performances indicate a player hitting his stride, with five goals and one assist across all competitions.

Arsenal’s joy with their investment in him last summer can be seen in the German’s rising confidence and impacting performances.

As Havertz continues to show his worth, the Gunners can expect much more from the dynamic player, paving the way for an exciting chapter in his future at the Emirates.
