Martin Odegaard has requested a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
The 22-year old has joined Madrid back in 2015 and had a successful loan spell for Real Sociedad last season scoring seven goals and making nine assists.
He was expected to play a bigger for the Los Blancos this season but made a few cameo roles and featured only for 232 minutes.
Following the departure of Mesut Ozil, Arsenal would like to have Odegaard on loan as competition for Emile Smith Rowe who has established himself in the number 10 role.
Mikel Arteta has a problem in his squad depth and would definitely love a few more options in the number 10 position.
Arsenal can offer Odegaard more playing time and this move will only benefit Mikel Arteta.
Odegaard would not cost a lot of money and will have six months to prove himself. If the loan doesn’t work out, he would eventually go back to Real Madrid where he seemed to have played his last minutes of football for this campaign.
