Xhaka is now recovering from a knee injury he suffered against Tottenham.
According to a report, Roma started their interest in Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka for next summer. Jose Mourinho is keen to sign the Switzerland captain from Gunners in the summer.
Last summer, Roma failed to meet Arsenal’ £20m asking price. Xhaka continued his contract with Emirates and signed a new deal until 2024. The Swiss international is sidelined with a serious knee injury.
According to the reports of Corriere dello Sport, Roma could try again for Arsenal star in January.
The 29-year-old has won two FA Cups for Arsenal since his arrival from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016. The Swiss star appeared in four Premier League games in the 2021-22 season. He is now recovering from a knee injury he suffered against Tottenham.
Xhaka has netted 13 goals and provided 20 assists for Gunners in 225 appearances across all competitions.
