Roy Keane, the renowned football pundit, has weighed in on the intense Premier League title race following Arsenal’s crucial 1-0 victory over Manchester United.
The win keeps Arsenal’s hopes alive as they strive to snatch the title from current leaders Manchester City.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane expressed his views on the title race, leaning towards Manchester City to clinch the trophy once again.
Keane, who had previously considered Arsenal or Liverpool as potential contenders, has now firmly backed City, citing their consistent performance throughout the season.
“I questioned Manchester City four or five weeks ago, thinking to myself that I’m not quite sure they can do it,” the Manchester United legend said.
“But in the last few weeks I don’t know why I even doubted them. The quality and strength in their squad, players off the bench are world-class, a world-class manager in Pep, everything. They are just a machine.
“Even yesterday away to Fulham, far from an easy game and they win by four goals. You just can’t see them being stopped now.”
Arsenal’s fate now hinges on City dropping points in their remaining fixtures. The Gunners will be banking on Tottenham to produce a result against City similar to their own victory against the league leaders.
However, with City’s formidable form and Tottenham’s recent struggles, the task appears daunting for Arsenal.
Although City has had mixed fortunes at Tottenham’s stadium in recent years, their dominant form this season makes them strong favorites to secure the vital victory.
Despite Arsenal’s hopes resting on City’s slip-up, Keane’s prediction favors Pep Guardiola’s side to ultimately reclaim the Premier League title.
