David Seaman has slammed Arsene Wenger for his man management.
The former England goalkeeper who played for Arsenal said that Wenger was never ready to have a confrontation with any of his players over any matter.
“Arsene Wenger was rubbish at it (man-management),” former England international Seaman revealed. “Arsene never used to bother with it. He would name the team on a Saturday morning and if you weren’t playing the lads would be like ‘can I have a word’ and Arsene would say ‘no’. And that was it! He hated confrontation.”
Wenger was Arsenal manager for over two decades and led the club to many successful campaigns. When he took over at the club, he introduced new forms of training, new regimes of diet and everything else. He was more of a trainer than a manager.
And it had success, initially at least, when his team won multiple league titles and had an invincible season. However, the wheels came off in the long run as players started leaving and Wenger was unable to convince anyone to stay.
The one and only he did convince was Mesut Ozil which unfortunately for Arsenal turned out to be a big loss on business as Ozil has been below par on levels of playing but earns a mammoth salary.
