The former England international believes that Mauricio Pochettino’s men are superior than their local rivals at the moment. He was quoted, “Tottenham have got consistency at the moment with the manager and settled players, and that’s key. They’ve got a young team that works together and the main thing is it’s settled.”
“No one is getting beyond their station and they’re just getting on and playing football. But obviously, to get to the next level, it’s a big task.”
When you look at the Premier League standings now and for the past few seasons, Campbell does have a strong point regarding who is doing better in the English top-flight.
Spurs have enjoyed Champions League football for 4 consecutive seasons now whereas Arsenal are struggling to make their way into the top four. The Gunners have already lost 6 games in the league this campaign despite seeing minor improvements under Unai Emery.
They were on an incredible 22-game winning streak but it all collapsed during the winter period when the side registered losses against Liverpool and West Ham United and recently against Manchester City.
However, Tottenham are yet to register a single trophy clinch under the Pochettino management. They too like Arsenal have a poor record against the top 6 Premier League sides this season.
From a distance, it might seem like they are the better side due to their stability under the Argentine boss but the club still needs to register silverware or even make a strong enough contention for the title to really be called the kings of North London.
