In court, a Tottenham supporter who kicked Aaron Ramsdale in the back at the conclusion of the North London derby admitted to assault
During the game, the England goalkeeper and the Spurs supporters behind his goal exchanged jabs, which is customary. Aaron Ramsdale was kicked in the back by Spurs supporter Joseph Watts at the conclusion of the game as he reached for his water bottle.
He has now been charged, and according to a report in The Sun, the 35-year-old admitted to assault on the day of the match, today at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court.
Watts is expected to receive a lifetime ban from football stadiums as a result of this significant step towards ending fan attacks on players in facilities near the English Premier League.
Arsenal supporters must take heed from their outbursts against Manchester City and learn to control their emotions. In the end, it’s just a 90-minute football match; nothing more, nothing less.
The players need to feel protected, and if we treat a team’s players badly, they might treat our players badly when we go to their stadiums.
