David Seaman has urged Arsenal owner, Stan Kroenke to back Unai Emery in the upcoming transfer window.
This is a pivotal period in the club’s history since they can either turn back into trophy-winning ways or fall further behind the English football hierarchy. Seaman outlined the major way the Gunners can improve next season and that is through signings.
We are all aware of how cautious the North London outfit are with their finances and holding back funds this summer could further derail their pursuit of a top-four Premier League spot.
“Give him some money,” a frustrated Seaman told football.london after Arsenal’s 4-1 defeat to Chelsea in the Europa League final.
“Give him a transfer window. There have been two transfer windows that have gone by and he’s had nothing. The board need to back him or otherwise, we are going to be left further behind.”
Plenty of reports have claimed that Unai Emery will be allotted only around £45m in the upcoming transfer window. The summer budget also is expected to take a major hit after the club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League for a fourth season in a row.
The Spanish boss did make some key additions last summer but he will definitely need way more cash to chase after marquee signings.
