The players who can rebuild Arteta's Arsenal: Ferdinand

Arsenal are very clearly a club in transition.

From the decline that started in the last years of the Wenger era, the erosion continued further under Emery as they were left ruderless until the arrival of Mikel Arteta who seems to have the skills but not the tools.

The players are either near the end of their peak or just beginning to enter the world of football and with high wages and the club in a financial fix, buying their way out will not be a possible solution.

So what should Arteta do to rebuild Arsenal?

Rio Ferdinand sure seems to have a solid take on the matter.

Speaking on BT Sport (via The Mirror), he said: “I think the great thing about seeing Saka’s tweet there and his statement is about how he loves the club, he believes in the philosophy and he wants to move forward here.”

“They need more players who think like that and they need to build around that. I’d build around him, around Martinelli, around Willock.”

“These young players who have come through and the badge needs something to these boys, and they need to get players to build around that as well. To understand that and to come in and accept that this is the place we want to be, we believe in the management and we want to go forward together.”
