Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has said that strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are big brothers to him.
Guendouzi has become a key player for the Gunners since joining them from Lorient last summer. The youngster has so far made 50 appearances for the club, scoring a goal and providing two assists.
This season, the Frenchman has played the entirety of the Gunners’ first two matches against Newcastle and Burnley.
Speaking to Canal Football Club, the 20-year said that Aubameyang and Lacazette have been big brothers to him. As quoted by Metro, he said: “He gives me a little punch on my left shoulder every morning, with his attacking colleague Lacazette, every morning. They are really important to me. They are like two big brothers ever since I arrived, they made it really easy for me, on the pitch and off of it. They are super guys.”
Aubameyang and Lacazette are two players who any youngster would consider a big brother because of how laid-back they always seem.
Guendouzi has so far done well for the Gunners and will hope to produce similar performances as Arsenal will hope to seal a spot in next season’s Champions League.
After starting against Newcastle and Burnley, the Frenchman will certainly be in Unai Emery’s playing XI next weekend when the Gunners take on Liverpool at Anfield.
