Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has cautioned that it will require some investment for Freddie Ljungberg to stamp his worth as Arsenal manager, after taking up the position from Unai Emery.

Freddie Ljungberg, the current Arsenal manager, played next to Thierry Henry for 8 years. Ljungberg took up the position as the new manager for the Gunners after Unai Emery recently got sacked.

He oversaw his first game within the span of 48 hours. With Emery, Arsenal hadn’t won matches since October began in the Premier League, when the Gunners played against Bournemouth and lost. However, with Ljungberg in control, not much seems to have changed. On Sunday, Arsenal faced a 2-2 draw to Norwich.

‘Well I think what we’ve seen so far, it’s very difficult to change anything in I think he had one session, or two maybe,’ confessed Henry.

‘It’s virtually impossible to change anything. And what we saw is what I’ve seen before. [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang scored two goals and we escaped – when I say “we” you know why.’

‘But that’s what I saw, you know, without the goals of Aubameyang I don’t know where we would have been right now.

‘So it’s interesting to see how we are going to play against Brighton, and see what Freddie is about. Because that game [against Norwich] was very difficult to see what was happening really.’
