The former Red Devil believes even though Arsenal currently occupies the third spot, the Gunners will miss out on a top four spot because of their bad away form. He has also voted against Chelsea making the top four and believes it will be Tottenham Hotspur who will make it to the top four. The comments came after United’s loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers which saw Nuno Espirito Santo’s men complete the double over United.
“Before Manchester United’s loss to Wolves I would have said they would be in the top four for sure but that result changes everything,’ he told Premier League Productions. ‘Tottenham I think will be alright but Arsenal I think will miss out. Their home form is exceptional but away from home they are poor. I still think United will sneak in with Spurs and Arsenal and Chelsea will miss out.”
However, Wright has disagreed with him. He backed his former club to qualify with Chelsea and Manchester United missing out. “I’m going Arsenal third and Tottenham fourth,” he added.
