Thomas Partey has insisted that Arsenal won’t alter their attacking approach against Real Madrid despite holding a commanding 3-0 lead heading into the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

No Parking the Bus: Partey Says Arsenal Will Go for the Win at the Bernabeu

The Gunners delivered a statement performance at the Emirates Stadium, dismantling the reigning champions with a Declan Rice brace and a stunning strike from Mikel Merino.

However, the job is only half done, and Partey believes Arsenal must continue playing the same fearless brand of football that has brought them this far.

Speaking ahead of the high-stakes clash at the Santiago Bernabeu, Partey underlined the importance of confidence and composure.

“We have to be confident, we have to go there and play our game and try to win,” he said.

“It’s very difficult, it’s not going to be easy. We know how good they are and the quality they have from back to front. But we believe in ourselves.”

Partey, who featured in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Brentford over the weekend and even got on the scoresheet before being forced off with a knock, is hoping to recover in time for what he described as one of the biggest nights in Arsenal’s recent history.

“I think it’s a beautiful moment,” he added.

“A moment that every player wants to be a part of. I’m really happy to be in the team. Everyone has the same confidence and we’re going to go there with that same energy.”

Despite Madrid’s history of dramatic comebacks in Europe, Arsenal appear unfazed.

Partey’s comments suggest that Mikel Arteta’s men are not preparing to sit back and absorb pressure but instead plan to take the game to Madrid once again.

“We’ve been playing the whole season this way,” he said.

“We just have to get the ball, keep it, and attack them. That’s how we play.”

Arsenal fans will be hoping that bold mentality pays off once more in the cauldron of the Bernabeu.
