Gunners fans have been made to wait for the Premier League title for 17 years now and no one knows when they will regain that status.
The last time they clinched the English crown was in 2004 when they went the entire season undefeated and earned “Invincible” status. That was a turning moment for a lot of Arsenal fans, including Thomas Partey who wants the club to return to similar levels.
“Everybody is wanting to win all the trophies that can be won. That’s my goal also,” Partey said. “It’s something that’s difficult but we’re working towards it and we’re ready. We have to go all out and try and achieve all I have said. That’s the objective of the club and myself. We have to get back to where we belong.”
Arsenal face Manchester City next on Saturday right after the international break. Partey is on course to make his debut but Mikel Arteta might also be cautious to drop him in immediately.
The Ghana international will add plenty of structure to the team’s midfield, both in attack and defence. His ability to break an opposition attack and immediately launch one for his own side is what sets him apart from the rest. Fans will be patiently waiting to see their biggest transfer coup in years to dawn the Arsenal shirt soon.
