Arsenal extended their winless run to 9 games with last night’s disaster showing at the Emirates.
Mesut Ozil was visibly angry with his teammates as he gestured to Lacazette after the final whistle. He walked off the pitch fuming. Many would think the German’s reaction was unnecessary since he did not perform exceptionally well but Adams thought otherwise.
“I don’t mind that actually,” Tony Adams told Premier League productions. “There’s a little bit of spirit there. I don’t mind that. Maybe he should have done it before the game. Before the game take that attitude on to the pitch.
“The game’s gone now, it’s all over. “If he’d got the frustration out before the game and say ‘I’m really go and run around and do my stuff today’. He’s frustrated, obviously.”
Freddie Ljugnberg said after the match, “They look very short on confidence. In the first half they were scared to get the ball and a bit scored to move, they were just standing still. That’s something we need to talk about.
“They need to have a win, we need to dig out a win and get them some confidence. They can do it because they showed it in the beginning of the second half and they did it really well for 20 minutes. It’s hard to say that when you lose at home, but they were very good in that little spell.”
