Unai Emery is confident of the board’s support even after a horrific 2-2 home draw against Southampton.
Arsenal are now winless in 6 Premier League games, their last win coming at the Emirates against Aston Villa.
Supporters believe the final line has been drawn over Emery’s future at the club but the Spaniard thinks otherwise. He claims to have the support of the Arsenal board when head of football, Raul Sanllehi and technical director, Edu was noticed storming out of the home dressing room after the match.
Both the Gunners heads were visibly infuriated and disappointed with the result. Sanllehi previously revealed that he had handed Emery an ultimatum this season and it will be interesting to see what action he takes now.
“They are supporting me everyday,” said Emery after the 2-2 draw. “I know we can do better and I’m going to try to do that.”
Emery called for the support of the Arsenal fans even through these poor run of form. He added, “I understand the supporters are angry and frustrated. The players are feeling the same and my job is to find out how to improve and the key is to be with the supporters. Our target was to win but also to play well and we didn’t do that.”
